The sneaker world is accustomed to collaborations between a designer and brand, but two footwear brands collaborating together? That’s a rare sight to see. Previously collabing with Reebok, adidas is now looking at Allbirds to help push their sustainability goals with two colorways of the upcoming Allbirds x adidas FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT.
Bringing design language of both brands together, the silhouette hits the sustainable mark by being produced with 50% recycled materials, using regenerated fibers from sustainably grown wood. This goal is also achieved using virgin non-dyed knits across the upper on the white pair, with the multi-color pair using limited dyed knit to achieve its red and green look. Stitching throughout the heel, midfoot, toe box and upper provide much needed depth on the plain silhouette.
Speaking on the midfoot, co-branding can be seen with adidas and the Three Stripes printed alongside Allbirds. Down on the midsole, both pairs feature EVA cushioning with 17% of the material coming from sugarcane and carbon emission stats printed on both sides. Rounding out this eco-friendly silhouette is a synthetic outsole with black and brown on the multi color pair and the white pair featuring white and brown.
Both the Allbirds x adidas FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT in White and in Multi-Color are set to release in 2022 through adidas.com and select retailers online and instore. Coming in men's sizing, both pairs will retail for $120.
