After officially joining ANTA in the summer of 2023, Kyrie Irving launched his first signature sneaker with the Chinese sportswear brand in early 2024. Now, a year removed from this, and the launch of models like the Kai 1 Speed, Kai 1 Team, and the lifestyle-oriented ANTA Hélà Style, Kyrie and ANTA are unveiling the ANTA Kai 2 with the Artist on Court colorway.

Initially debuted on the court during the NBA All-Star, the Kai 2's Artist on Court colorway continues the theme and color palette of the original ANTA Kai 1 release. The hand-painted toebox, inspired by Fauvist brushstrokes, features free-flowing patterns that echo Kyrie's unpredictable playstyle. ANTA's logo on the midfoot gets reimagined, incorporating Native American patterns as a heartfelt nod to Kyrie's heritage.

The heel embroidery carries the "KAI" motif, stitched in an exclusive design that symbolizes Kyrie’s past, present, and future fusion. Fuzzy, velvet-textured laces elevate the off-court appeal, working with a second lace set that allows for a customized fit. Down below, the midsole gets a mother-of-pearl-infused rear oval window that pays tribute to oil painting textures. The “GATE” heel design—crafted from sculpted leather—serves as a metaphorical gateway, representing Kyrie’s continuous journey of self-exploration and empowerment.

Even though Kyrie embeds multiple storytelling details into the Kai 2's design, it's still engineered for elite-level performance. Inside sits a NitronEdge insole, which is design-inspired by the strength and precision of ancient Egyptian architecture. Alongside this is the sawtooth TPU structure that enhances flexibility and a hollow outsole construction, ensuring top-tier traction and adaptability.

The ANTA Kai 2 Artist on Court will release on February 28, 2025, through ANTA and select retailers online and in-store. The retail price is set at $140 in men's sizing.
