While the Minnesota Timberwolves lost in the Western Conference Finals a few months back, they’re looking to make a deeper playoff run in the 2024-2025 season with star Anthony Edwards at the helm. Thanks to a flurry of social media posts, we’ve gotten a look at some of Edwards’ training routine as he and the Wolves prep for another NBA season. However, in these posts, the Timberwolves unveiled a brand-new pair of Edwards’ hit signature adidas sneaker, the AE 1 (or should we say Anthony Edwards 1).
Unlike most pairs that hit shelves, sans the McDonald’s All-American iteration, this new AE 1 Low PE comes in a white Primeblue knit base. Multi-color tie-dye is applied to the mesh below the honeycomb generative support wing on the midfoot, matching the pops of color found on the toecap, heel counter, pull tabs, and outsole. More tie-dye is applied to the neoprene tongue and sockliner. The pair is drawing some comparisons online to the 3SSB PE shared earlier this year, which is getting a retail release on an AE 1 Low in April 2025. Unfortunately, the pair seen here on Ant’s feet will remain a PE for now.
While this AE 1 Low isn’t seeing a public release, there are plenty of upcoming colorways to look forward to. This lineup includes the AE 1 Low Iron Sharpens Iron, Slime, Best of Adi 2.0, and, as mentioned before, the PE to Retail colorway.
