The Asics Gel-Kayano 5 OG Kith Exclusive Pack is Available Now

Asics has been enjoying a resurgence in recent years thanks to mesh runners being all the rage, with the Gel-Kayano series leading the charge. While the Gel-Kayano 14 has become a staple in both the collaborative and general release spaces, Asics is diving back into its archives to bring attention to another beloved model, the Gel-Kayano 5 OG. Initially designed by Shunichi Kayano in 1999, the silhouette was known for its sleek design and tech-driven approach. The model has seen a few small revivals, but now it’s spotlighted again through an exclusive launch with Kith.

The Kith exclusive pack of the Asics Gel-Kayano 5 OG features two distinct colorways: White Black with yellow accents and White Saffron, which combines blue mesh detailing with black and yellow highlights. Both iterations boast a breathable mesh base with leather overlays that wrap around the mudguard and midfoot. Suede accents enhance the upper, extending from the midfoot to the heel, where Asics branding is prominently displayed on the lateral side and heel spine. The signature Tiger stripe branding is applied in a textured finish on the midfoot, sitting atop a circular mesh panel. Underfoot, the sneaker remains true to its roots with a foam midsole featuring Gel cushioning for a comfortable ride, paired with a black rubber outsole that offers reliable traction.

The Asics Gel-Kayano 5 OG Kith Exclusive Pack was released on August 10, 2024, and is available now, exclusively via Kith online and in-store.
