Asics has continued to build a solid catalog of performance sneakers, with the Gel-Lyte series being arguably the most popular silhouettes in their lineup. This model often is the canvas for Asics (and collaborators) to bring themes to life. The Japanese running brand is looking to the African “Rooibos” tea for inspiration for its latest themed colorway on the Asics Gel-Lyte III.
Like Rooibos tea, once it is brewed, the silhouette maintains an orange-like shade across most of its upper, with an accenting lighter orange landing on select details. Canvas overlays on the mudguard, midfoot, eyestays, and heel come in this lighter orange hue, while a rusty orange shade takes over the base layer. Signature details found on the Gel-Lyte III remain, like the split tongue design and branding details along the heel and midfoot. Underfoot sits a tan-hued Gel-cushioned midsole paired with a tonal rubber outsole.
The Asics Gel-Lyte III Rooibos will be released in 2023 through Asics and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
