Asics has been gaining momentum in the sneaker community, especially with the rising popularity of utilitarian designs and gorpcore. While the label has teamed up with atmos and HAL Studios in the coming year, the Japanese footwear brand is set to introduce a new inline model that aligns perfectly with current fashion trends: the Asics Gel-Terrain.
Launching in four distinct colorways, Vanilla, Black, Dark Jade, and Faded Ash Rock, each variant of the Gel-Terrain is designed to cater to outdoor enthusiasts and style-conscious consumers alike. Asics constructed the upper with outdoor-ready materials, including fused TPU overlays and ripstop mesh, ensuring durability and breathability. The speed lacing system enhances the utility and ease of wear, while no-sew elements contribute to the sneaker's robust construction.
The Gel-Terrain draws inspiration from the Gel-Fujitrabuco series, but Asics introduces fresh updates with a sole unit borrowed from the GT-2000 8. This sole features FLYTEFOAM cushioning and Gel technology, offering superior comfort and support. The design is completed by a rubber outsole equipped with an outdoor-ready traction pattern, perfect for various terrains.
The Asics Gel-Terrain will release on January 12, 2024, through Asics Australia, while a global launch is set for the coming weeks. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
