Every sneakerhead attests that the industry has become filled with techy mesh runners. Due to this rising trend, Asics has seen a boost in popularity, with the Japanese footwear label pumping out new renditions of silhouettes like the GT-2160, Gel-NYC, and Gel-Kayano 14 to much success. Adding to its growing list of GT-2160s, Asics is giving the sneaker pops of pink on a new Metallic Silver Pink colorway.
Standard construction for the GT-2160 is present on this new rendition, as we see tumbled leather overlays, TPU reinforcements, and a wide-spaced mesh base on the upper. The base layer is stark white, allowing the metallic silver overlays along the mudguard, toebox, and eyestays to shine through. Cream accents line the edge of these panels on the midfoot and the center of the pink Asics tiger strip logo. More pink hits find a home on the heel overlay, sockliner, and tongue label, featuring a checkerboard pattern and pink Asics branding. Underfoot, the GT-2160s tooling remains untouched, featuring white foam and pink Gel details near the heel and a rubber outsole in black and cream with a stability shank near the midfoot.
The Asics GT-2160 Metallic Silver Pink will release sometime before the end of 2024 through Asics and select retailers online and in-store. The pair will come priced at $120.
