Asics has been dominating in 2024. You’d be hard-pressed to step outside and NOT see a pair of mesh runners from the brand, likely the GT-2160, Gel-Kayano 14, or Gel-1130. For the former of the three, we’ve seen an array of solid GR color schemes alongside collaborations with JJJJound. They borrowed the color palette from the Miami Dolphins for the brand's newest inline variant.
Like many Asics GT-2160 colorways, the mudguard and eyestays have metallic silver overlays, while the wide-spaced mesh base is white. Lining the edge of the overlays near the collar, eyestays, and on the sides of the toe are hits of aqua blue, close to the same hue used by the Dolphins. The Dolphins theme is highlighted with orange accents on the Asics logo along the vamp, tongue tag, and the leather panel filling near the lateral heel. The tiger stripe is primarily aqua-blue with metallic silver hits in the logo's center. Underfoot sits a cream foam midsole with Gel cushioning near the heel paired with a grey and aqua-blue rubber outsole.
The Asics GT-2160 Miami Dolphins has no confirmed release date but should launch either at the end of 2024 or early 2025. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $120.
