The Asics-One is Designed for Live Music Performances
Published
Most musicians prefer to sport comfortable footwear when performing on stage. Body movement and the amount of time standing can strain your feet, and to combat this, Asics has teamed up with Japanese musician Taka from ONE OK ROCK to create a sneaker to help stabilize the body during movement and promote good posture for musicians performing live. The product of this project? The Asics-One.
Taka and Asics created a shoe with easy on-and-off functionality thanks to the laceless, slip-on construction and split tongue design, the latter taking inspiration from the Gel-Lyte III. The entire upper is swathed in a soft, lightweight black mesh reinforced with a flame pattern TPU cage to increase stability. An internal heel counter adds more stability and comfort during long performances. The sole below has a wavy shape in the forefoot to increase flexibility, while the sidewall and heel design help improve stability. Unfortunately, Asics doesn’t share exactly what cushioning tech is housed within the foam midsole. The wavy rubber outsole has a tonal black finish that rounds the look.
The Asics-One Black will release tomorrow, September 27, 2024, through Asics and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $225.
