Asics has cemented its place in the sneaker world with the resurgence of mesh runners, appealing to both sneakerheads and fashion-forward individuals. Among its popular offerings, the GT-2160 stands out, thanks to its sleek design and affordability. Continuing to innovate, Asics has partnered with atmos Tokyo for the latest iteration of the GT-2160, unveiling a stunning Cream Silver Orange colorway. This collaboration comes on the heels of their successful projects, including the recent Gel-Kayano 14, and promises to deliver another must-have sneaker for collectors and fans alike.
The atmos x Asics GT-2160 features a cream mesh base, providing a lightweight and breathable feel. Metallic Silver overlays accentuate the toe, midfoot, and heel, adding a touch of modernity to the classic runner silhouette. Orange hues highlight the heel overlay, creating a striking contrast against the earthy tan shades on the Asics tiger stripe design. The combination of these colors results in a visually appealing and versatile sneaker.
Underfoot, the GT-2160 boasts a Gel-cushioned midsole in cream and orange, ensuring comfort and support for all-day wear. The black rubber outsole provides durability and traction, making the sneaker suitable for various surfaces. Despite the detailed design, the sneaker maintains a subtle approach to branding, with atmos logos not being present, similar to previous collaborations.
The atmos x Asics GT-2160 Cream Silver Orange will release in July 2024 through atmos Tokyo online and in-store and possibly via Asics online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
