Bad Bunny’s work with adidas has seen the Puerto Rican superstar hop between multiple silhouettes, though he tends to keep his eye on one model at a time. First, he worked on the Forum, then moved on to the Campus, Response CL, and now more recently, on a redesigned variant of the Gazelle Indoor. We were first given an homage to San Juan with the first Bad Bunny x adidas Gazelle, and shortly after that, we received a clean White Black Gum variant with Benito branding. Now, after an early look at a significant link-up between another Latin superstar under adidas’ banner, Lionel Messi, on the adidas F50 Messi Elite FG cleat, the first images of Lionel Messi and Bad Bunny’s collaborative Gazelle have emerged.
Containing a similar color palette to the soccer cleat, we also see similar design details across this Gazelle Indoor. Cardboard brown shades cover most of the upper, including the warped T-shaped overlay on the toe, the base layer, and portions along the tongue, sockliner, and collar. Cream shades grace the Three Stripes, vamp, eyestays, and the added X overlay on the heel, initially designed to lock the heel in but now symbolizes Messi’s jersey number 10. Another unique detail of this three-way collaboration is the signatures of Bad Bunny and Messi on the first two lateral Three Stripes and the “Bad Bunny Para Messi” logos on the tongue and insole. Rounding out the design is the semi-translucent gum rubber midsole and outsole.
The Bad Bunny x Lionel Messi x adidas Gazelle Indoor will release October 26, 2024, through adidas, Bad Bunny’s website, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
