This iteration of the BAPE x adidas Stan Smith is a homage to BAPE's roots, featuring the brand's signature ABC Camo pattern across the all-leather upper. The iconic green, brown, and tan camouflage, synonymous with BAPE's identity, envelops the shoe, contrasting the white leather heel tab sharply against the vivid pattern. This tab showcases split branding, with BAPE and adidas' logos appearing in an elegant gold finish, symbolizing the collaboration's prestige. The tongue adds a twist to the classic Stan Smith design, replacing the traditional portrait with BAPE's recognizable APE head, while Stan Smith's name remains embossed on the side, honoring the tennis legend.
What’s odd about this pair is the inclusion of the 30th Anniversary BAPE logo on the lace dubrae, a nod to the brand's milestone celebrated in 2023, suggesting this pair was meant to drop last year. Completing the ensemble is an off-white sole unit, subtly elevating the sneaker's overall aesthetic and ensuring it remains a versatile addition to any wardrobe.
