Two decades of collaboration between BAPE and adidas have given sneakerheads and streetwear enthusiasts many memorable releases. Returning to their first joint project in 2003 with the adidas Superstar, this dynamic pairing has ventured into almost every iconic silhouette that adidas offers. As 2023 marks BAPE's 30th anniversary and two decades of its partnership with adidas, fans are treated to another special release: the BAPE x adidas Stan Smith Golf Collection. This follows multiple Campus 80s and Forum Lows from the duo this year.
The golf-centric capsule places the spotlight on the adidas Stan Smith Golf silhouette. Channeling the time-honored white and green color palette, the design weaves in the signature BAPE ABC camo, notably on the heel tab and the accompanying kilties. Shimmering metallic gold details punctuate these kilties, crowned by the iconic BAPE Ape logo. Dominating the upper is premium white leather, with adidas' iconic Three Stripes subtly hinted at through precise perforations. The tongue tags showcase dual branding: the right swaps out the classic Stan Smith visage for the BAPE Ape head, while the left retains the traditional logo. A similar duality graces the heel, presenting gold Trefoil and Stan Smith details on the left and the gleaming BAPE STA logo on the right. Function meets style as the creamy midsole supports a green spikeless outsole primed for golfers. Supplementing the sneaker is a rich collection of apparel and accessories featuring a co-branded hat, golf glove, towel, and a WIND.RDY jacket and pants ensemble, and a sleek golf polo shirt.
The BAPE x adidas Stan Smith Golf Collection will release October 21, 2023 through adidas, BAPE, and select retailers online and in-store. The Stan Smith will retail for $160.
