Sneaker boutiques love to go all-out with celebrating their anniversaries, oftentimes linking up with a footwear brand for a special release. This practice is true with Japanese retailer Billy’s Ent, celebrating its 10th Anniversary with an Asics collaboration on the ever-popular Gel-NYC silhouette.
Unlike the retailer's first collaboration with Asics, which celebrated its 5th anniversary on an Earth-toned Asics Gel-Kayano 5, this pair comes primarily coated in a metallic silver and grey palette. These hues land on the leather panels along the mudguard, vamp, eyestays, heel overlay, and mesh base. On the lateral side, the Asics formstrip logo comes coated in the same metallic silver as the rest of the upper, while the medial side comes with the logo in a deep midnight navy shade. Continuing with the dark navy hues, one of Billy's signature colors, are branding details along the tongue tag, lateral heel, and heel tab. Grounding the design are grey colors along the lace set and sockliner. Finishing the sneaker is the Gel-NYC midsole with a navy and grey foam midsole paired with a dark rubber outsole.
The Billy’s Ent x Asics Gel-NYC is available now through Billy’s Ent. in Japan and through select retailers globally, while an Asics US drop is set to take place on November 15, 2024. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $155.
