German-based retailer BSTN has utilized its relationship with fellow German brand adidas to honor European basketball. In 2022, the duo came together to pay homage to Panathinaikos B.C. and Jugoplastika Split, with a follow-up two weeks back honoring Bayern Munich Basketball. Now, Bayern, BSTN, and adidas are back, this time on the newly introduced adidas Dame 9 to celebrate Bayern’s new stadium, The Garden.
BSTN keeps things simple here compared to the Dame 9’s previous collaboration with BAPE, as the color palette sticks to neutral hues of black and white. Black shades cover the leather overlay along the toe and profile, while more black is on the mesh layer below and the internal neoprene bootie. Dame’s D logo is placed in a white shade on the tongue, with BSTN appearing via a small star logo near the lateral toe. More branding for BSTN is found on the co-branded insole, which features logos for FC Bayern Munich Basketball, adidas, and BSTN. Bayern again makes its presence known via the right shoe’s heel tab, though the left pair sticks to Dame branding. Finishing the upper is the olive strata-shaded faux snakeskin applied to the Three Stripes, cutting into the midfoot. Below, the sneaker is complete with a white midsole featuring Lightstrike cushioning paired with a white rubber outsole.
Alongside the Dame 9, the trio has prepped a friends-and-family Crazy 8 Low, a low-cut version of Kobe Bryant’s first signature sneaker with adidas introduced earlier this year thanks to Hoop York City. Grey suede lands across the toe, overlays on the midfoot and collar, and a beige heavy-duty canvas is used for the base below. The tongue tag features Bayern branding alongside “24-25” for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.
The BSTN x Bayern Munich Basketball x adidas Dame 9 releases on September 28, 2024, through BSTN online and in-store. A global release will take place on September 30. Available in men’s sizing, the sneaker will retail for €120 (approx $134 USD).
