Cadillac Teams up With The Shoe Surgeon for Custom Jordan 1 Lows
Published
Cadillac is stepping into the sneaker world with an exclusive collaboration that merges luxury automotive design with high-end custom footwear. Partnering with renowned Los Angeles designer Dominic Ciambrone, also known as The Shoe Surgeon, Cadillac has introduced a collection of custom sneakers inspired by its latest electric vehicle (EV) portfolio. Drawing from the iconic designs of the Cadillac LYRIQ, CELESTIQ, OPTIQ, and ESCALADE IQ, this collection reflects Cadillac’s signature blend of innovation and luxury, embodied through the craftsmanship and creativity of The Shoe Surgeon.
The design team at The Shoe Surgeon worked closely with Cadillac artisans at General Motors Design Center in Warren, Michigan, to translate the distinctive elements of each vehicle into custom sneakers. Every detail in these sneakers mirrors Cadillac's commitment to luxury and individuality, from premium interior leathers to unique upholstery patterns, stitching techniques, and even the vehicles’ paint colors. “Cadillac’s design philosophy celebrates transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary,” said Bryan Nesbitt, executive director, Global Cadillac Design. “This collaboration exemplifies how we push the boundaries of American luxury.”

One of the standout moments for this collaboration will be its presence at the 2024 US Open tennis tournament, where Cadillac is the Official Vehicle partner. In addition to the main collection, a special pair of sneakers was crafted to honor tennis star and Cadillac brand ambassador Francis Tiafoe. Tiafoe’s journey inspires these custom kicks and will be auctioned off via CharityBuzz.com, with proceeds supporting the USTA Foundation’s Frances Tiafoe Fund. This fund provides essential resources for free or low-cost tennis programs and academic services to over 130,000 student-athletes nationwide. Interestingly, this comes after Nike recently sued The Shoe Surgeon.
The limited-edition Cadillac x SURGEON custom sneakers – featuring the shoes inspired by the ESCALADE IQ, OPTIQ, LYRIQ, and CELESTIQ – will be available for purchase starting September 8, 2024, exclusively via CadillacSignature.com. Only five pairs of each EV-inspired design will be sold, making this a highly sought-after release for collectors. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the USTA Foundation’s Frances Tiafoe Fund, further solidifying the collaboration’s commitment to giving back.
