Carhartt WIP Adds It’s Touch To This New Balance 990v1

The workwear brand Carhartt and its lifestyle subdivision Carhartt WIP have continued to lean into the streetwear world through collaborations across the industry. After recently releasing a set of Carhartt WIP x Converse silhouettes, the brand is bringing its rugged aesthetic to the New Balance 990v1 “Made In USA.”

A suede and mesh combo remains present with Carhartt WIP choosing to raise the suede's nap to an 11/10, creating a worn-in scruffy finish along with the navy-colored overlays throughout. Its mesh base stays true to classic New Balance colorways, coming in grey while the N branding on the midfoot follows suit in a 3M reflective silver with a white trim underneath. Carhartt WIP makes an appearance on the right sneakers tongue tag and the left sneakers heel overlay through the brands' logo. A tan-colored sockliner and insole break up the two-tone look seen throughout, utilizing Carhartt’s distinct color palette. Rounding out the look is the Vibram cushioned white midsole and black rubber outsole with a solo hit of tan on the heel.

The Carhartt WIP x New Balance 990v1 has already seen a release through Foot District in the UK with a wider release going down on September 16th, 2022. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $225.
