Comme des Garçons Homme Plus continues its exploration of innovative footwear through its latest collaboration with Nike. The partnership, known for pushing the boundaries of design and blending high fashion with streetwear, is revisiting one of Nike's most iconic basketball silhouettes: the Air Foamposite One. This pair follows the success of their 2021 Foamposite collaboration, which featured a Black and White colorway, and the reveal of the revival of the Air Max TL 2.5.
This latest iteration sees CDG Homme Plus apply its signature avant-garde approach to the Foamposite, utilizing a specialized mold that debuted in their previous collaboration. This model features a distinctive circular pattern embossed across the Foamposite upper, diverging from the traditional design cues associated with the silhouette. A swirled black and white pattern is applied to the upper, similar to the Dream A World Foamposite from 2023, with CDG branding found on the heel tab. Also located here are bronze, silver, and gold stripes on the pull tab, nodding to the upcoming Summer Olympics. Underfoot sits a black outsole.
The CDG Homme Plus x Nike Air Foamposite One SP Cat Eye will release on July 19, 2024, exclusively through Dover Street Market online and in-store. While the last two CDG Foamposites retailed for $520, this new pair will retail for $325.
