Asics has always held its place in the footwear industry as the label produces some of the most comfortable running models while at the same time collaborating with more niche labels that offer unique takes on these technically-focused silhouettes. When it comes to these collaborative efforts, fashion labels and designers like Kith and Kiko Kostadinov bring elevated looks to the company’s models, and Cecilie Bahnsen, the up-and-coming Scandinavian, is continuing their partnership with the Asics GT-2160.
Coming in two colorways, one “Black” and “White,” the silhouette gets dressed in a combination of engineered mesh with leather overlays and TPU to create an artistically-designed silhouette. Around the toe and lockdown strap, you’ll find shiny leather that takes on tonal shades on the all-black pair while the white-based sneaker features an accenting hit of metallic silver. On the aforementioned lockdown strap sits a floral-like design that complements the wavy organic pattern found on the base layer. Asics branding remains in its typical spots with the brand's name featured on the vamp and heel while the Tiger stripe on the midfoot runs back to a GT-2160-branded heel overlay. Rounding out the design is the Gel-cushioned foam midsole that comes in black on the all-black pair and white/silver on the white pair paired with a black rubber outsole and a grey/white finish on each colorway respectively.
The Cecilie Bahnsen x Asics GT-2160 FW23 Collection is set to release in the Fall/Winter 2023 season through Cecilie Bahnsen, Asics, and select retailers online and in-store.
