Charles Barkley's Nike Air CB 34 Godzilla is Not Returning in 2025
Published
While he may have never won an NBA Championship, Charles Barkley accomplished what many can only dream of in many fields, including his signature sneaker line with Nike. Barkley had multiple models hit shelves during his days in the NBA, including the Air Max 2 CB 94, which has enjoyed a small retro run over the last few years. Rumors of his Nike Air Max CB 34 Godzilla returning during the Holiday 2025 season sprouted online. After confirming that the Triple White pair has been pulled from Nike's Fall 2025 lineup, Sole Retriever can confirm that the Godzilla pair is not slated to make a comeback.
Originally released in 1995, the model gained its Godzilla nickname from the series of ad spots that pit Barkley against the legendary monster in a pickup basketball game. Multiple colors were released during its original run, and The Swoosh brought it back a few times over the years, with the last retro run in 2016. Considering that the CB 94 hasn’t made as big a splash as Nike would have hoped, plans for a CB 34 retro would likely have resulted in the pair sitting on shelves and going on sale, something Nike does not want to deal with right now.
Fans of Charles Barkley’s signature sneaker line can look forward to a few OG colorways from the Air Max 2 CB 94 line, including the Black White Pure Purple and Suns renditions. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for more updates on the latest happenings in the sneaker and streetwear world.
