While still playing for the Phoneix Suns, Chris Paul was hitting the books at night and has just graduated from Winston-Salem State University. During his attendance at the graduation ceremony in his hometown, CP3 was spotted rocking what looks like a pair of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Chicago,” however, closer inspection shows it's actually a PE crafted by Jordan Brand for Paul to celebrate this achievement in his life. Luckily @englishsole on Instagram has provided the world with detailed photos of Chris Paul’s Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Winston-Salem” PE.
Taking on the same exact color scheme as a Chicago AJ 1 Low, varsity red leather takes over the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay while stark white leather appears on the toebox and quarter panel. Black-on-black shades appear on the tongue and lace set while the tag up top comes split between Nike branding on the right pair and an owl logo with a graduation cap on the left. These same two logos also appear on the insole, however, they flip locations and are placed on the opposite shoe. Along the midfoot sits a black Nike Swoosh, running back to the heel tab and passing a “W” logo on the lateral side of the heel, another nod to Winston-Salem State University. Rounding out the design is the white AJ 1 midsole paired with a red rubber outsole.
Chris Paul’s Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Winston-Salem PE will, unfortunately, remain exclusive to Paul and likely a select few from his inner circle.
