After taking on the Air Max 97 back in August, COMME des GARÇONS now has its sights set on the Air Pegasus 2005 with the upcoming COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Pegasus 2005 Pack. Celebrating the Air Pegasus line's 40th anniversary, this is Rei Kawakubo at her finest. Revealed in a duo of monochromatic colorways, make sure you read on to find out everything that we know so far, including potential release information, pricing details, and so much more.
As with most CDG x Nike collaborations, the Japanese fashion house's rendition of the 2005 classic comes in black and white options. With that said, the HOMME PLUS approach is significantly more minimal compared to the original silhouette, with plenty of panels removed for a seriously simplistic aesthetic. Working on top of a mesh base, smooth leather wraps around the entire shoe with Swoosh branding shooting across the laterals and medials. Unlike the OG, "Air Pegasus" has been added to the tongue, and "Full Length Nike Air" is printed across the top of the midsole. Interestingly, the COMME des GARÇONS x Air Pegasus 2005 Pack didn't make its Paris Fashion Week debut on the runway. Instead, they were revealed at the CDG showroom a few days later, so you can imagine how surprised some attendees were when they spotted them casually just sitting there.
Of course, this isn't the first time that the Tokyo-based label has taken on the Pegasus line. Back in 2017, it revealed its version of the Air Pegasus 83 with a similarly simplified look. If you want the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Pegasus 2005 Pack in your collection, it's set to on October 6, 2023 in men's sizes at Dover Street Market. A wider drop at COMME des GARÇONS, Nike, the SNKRS app, and select retailers online and in-store will follow later this holiday season. They'll retail for $200 each.
