The sneaker world has seen a variety of changes take place in the last decade. The days of camping out for the hottest sneaker releases are mostly over. Almost all drops have moved online via first-come-first-serve or raffles.
One of the last hold outs was Dick's Sporting Goods (DSG). While DSG normally holds a regular online release for most of its hype shoes, it releases its in-store sneaker allocations with wristband handouts a week before the product's release. If you're unfamiliar with this process, you're probably thinking it doesn't sound too bad. Well, customers typically camp out overnight to secure a wristband which guarantees them the sneakers in their size. This method often leads to unhappy customers and employees.
The good news (we think) is that DSG is officially switching some of it's exclusive sneaker releases to in-app raffles. In order to participate in raffles for Dick's Sporting Goods, users will need to download the app, create a ScoreCard account (if they don't already have one), and enter raffles for sneakers during the entry period. In the event you win, Dick's will send you an email confirmation and charge your payment method you have on file, from there they ship the sneakers to your front door. Keep in mind, not all Dick's sneaker releases will be raffles. Dick's will also hold it's traditional first-come-first-serve releases as well as it's newly announced Member Exclusives that will require users to have a ScoreCard account connected to their Nike account. Stay up-to-date on this transition in real-time and keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app.
