Although their start was in skateboarding, Montreal-based label Dime has expanded its influence across the footwear industry via timely collaborations. Over the last few years, we’ve seen Dime partner with brands like Asics, adidas, Reebok, Vans, and Merrell to infuse their style into various silhouettes. Now, Dime has teased its latest collaborative footwear project with Asics, showcasing two colorways of the Gel-Quantum 360 VIII.
Seen in a Grey and Black colorway, both pairs come with new construction across the upper. On the base sits a woven mesh in tonal shades that match the titular hue of each pair, while TPU panels help reinforce the toe, toebox, eyestays, and heel. Asics tiger stripes grace the midfoot in tonal shades, lined with metallic silver on the Black pair and a copper-like bronze shade on the Grey rendition. Dime branding is subtle, integrated into the lateral midfoot via the label’s cursive logo that matches the color of the tiger stripe piping. Though not directly visible in their early images, more Dime branding will likely appear alongside Asics logos on the insole and tongue tag. Underfoot sits the Gel-Quantum 360 VIII’s sole unit, taking on black shades on its Gel pods, a gradient finish on the foam portion, blue-to-black on the Black pair, and a greyscale pattern on the Grey colorway. All of this is paired with a tonal rubber outsole.
The Dime MTL x Asics Gel-Quantum 360 VIII Pack will be previewed at Hypefest this weekend, with an actual release date not confirmed. Expect the pair to hit shelves at the end of the year or early in 2025.
