While the leader of Cactus Jack, Travis Scott, is arguably the most prolific active collaborator in the sneaker game, his fellow label mate and friend, Don Toliver, is looking to enter the space. Taking to Instagram, Donny teased us with a first look at his very first sneaker collab, taking place on A Bathing Apes’ ROAD STA silhouette.
This isn’t the first time Don Toliver has worked with the Japanese streetwear legend. In 2021, he, alongside Cactus Jack, worked on a clothing capsule to celebrate the Life of a Don album. As for his first sneaker, Toliver brings bubblegum cotton candy shades to the Road Sta, a model that is a clear play on Nike’s Air Max silhouette.
Almost all of the paneling here comes in the vibrant pink hue, as seen on the patent leather mudguard, eyestays, midfoot, and heel, while the BAPE star on the midfoot and the lace set come in purple. Further purple accents are found on the heel, where the usual star logo is integrated into a Don Toliver logo, and along the BAPE STA logo on the tongue tag. Finishing the design is a tonal pink rubber midsole with an airbag in the heel paired with a tonal outsole.
The Don Toliver x A Bathing Ape ROAD STA has no confirmed release date, but with Don Toliver sharing images of the pair alongside packaging, expect a release in the coming weeks. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
