DTLR and New Balance are a match made in heaven as the DMV-based retailer continues receiving exclusive releases from the Boston-based footwear label each passing season. Last year, DTLR helped launch a Mistletoe-inspired pack of kids’ exclusive 990v4s, taking some unofficial inspiration from the Grinch with its green and red palette. DTLR is inspired by the glimmering tinsel ornaments found on Christmas trees with the men’s New Balance 2002R and the kids’ 990v6 for this holiday season.
Both silhouettes in this Tinsel Pack come coated in metallic silver hues across their leather panels, maintaining the same colorblocking and color scheme throughout. On the base sits a metallic silver mesh, stretching across the entire base of the sneaker, while we see pops of red appear on portions like the vamp, heel tab, and tongue tag of the 2002R. For the kids’ 990v6, the only red hits on the upper come via the heel tab and the “v6” branding on the tongue. Another hit of red found on the 2002R comes along the lining of the N logo, which is coated in a metallic silver hue. Both pairs feature a white and grey midsole, retaining their respective tooling setups, and a red rubber outsole.
The DTLR-Exclusive New Balance Tinsel Pack will release on November 27, 2024, through DTLR online and in-store. The 2002R will be offered in men’s sizing and retail for $145, while the 990v6 will be available in kids sizing, retailing for $130 (GS), $110 (PS), and $90 (TD).
