Duolingo, the beloved language-learning app known for its interactive lessons and meme-worthy owl mascot, is entering the fashion world. The brand has teamed up with Crocs for a playful take on the Classic Clog silhouette, perfectly capturing the spirit of Duolingo’s iconic mascot, Duo.
The Duolingo x Crocs Classic Clog features the standard Croslite foam construction, delivering the comfort and durability that Crocs is known for. The upper is dressed in a vibrant green hue inspired by Duo the Owl, with additional Jibbitz charms bringing the character to life. You’ll find Duo’s face on the right shoe, while the left shoe includes charms depicting Duo sitting alongside heart, fire, and ice emojis familiar to anyone who’s used the app. The sports-mode strap comes in a contrasting yellow, while the inside lining is white, completing the fun, vibrant design.
Access to this release is tied to a Duolingo experience. The first chance to grab a pair is through a Duolingo pop-up event in New York City, located at 42 Grand Street, running from August 23-24 from 11 AM to 8 PM and August 25 from 12 PM to 6 PM. Alongside the Crocs, the pop-up will feature other Duolingo-themed merch, including shirts, backpacks, and plushies. To gain entry, participants will need to complete a Duolingo lesson. If you can’t attend in person, the Duolingo x Crocs Classic Clog will also be available for preorder online.
The Duolingo x Crocs Classic Clog will release on August 23, 2024, exclusively via a pop-up shop in NYC hosted by Duolingo and through Duolingo’s online store. Retailing for $70, the release will be available in adult unisex sizing.
