Engineered Garments, under the creative helm of Daiki Suzuki, is no stranger to shaking up the menswear scene with its unique reinterpretations of classic attire. In its latest venture, the label pairs with Clarks Originals to reimagine the Desert Khan silhouette, a nod to the storied Desert Boot's origins and Egyptian bazaar birthplace.
Each pair in this collection, including the Brown, Black, and Sand colorways, is meticulously crafted from premium suede, ensuring that the brand's hallmark of quality is evident. However, the distinctive details introduced by Engineered Garments set these shoes apart. An asymmetric lacing system is the most notable feature, with D-rings on one side and blind eyelets on the other, offering a modern twist on a classic design. Additionally, each shoe is equipped with a nylon heel pull tab for ease of wearing and features removable kilties adorned with the Engineered Garments logo, adding protection and a unique aesthetic touch. The shoes are set on a Vibram® Morflex sole, known for its lightness, flexibility, and shock absorption, which ensures that style does not come at the expense of comfort.
The Engineered Garments x Clarks Originals Desert Khan Pack will release on March 15, 2024, through Clarks Japan, Nepenthes locations across the globe, and select retailers both online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
