While adidas is gearing up for All-Star Weekend with Anthony Edwards’ signature silhouette, and shortly after debuting the Harden Vol. 8, the German sportswear giant is set to pay homage to one of the sports world's most influential broadcasters, ESPN. Previously creating a tribute to ESPN’s Top Ten segment on the adidas Top Ten, the duo is now working on the adidas Top Ten 2000. This classic basketball silhouette once graced the feet of the legendary Kobe Bryant.
This iteration of the adidas Top Ten 2000 adopts a patriotic color palette of red, white, and blue, possibly a nod to the network's American roots. Golden accents embellish the spine of the tongue, proudly displaying the adidas and ESPN logos. The red nylon straps crossing the forefoot are subtly branded with adidas and ESPN logos in tonal shades, blending seamlessly with the overall design.
The rest of the upper is a symphony of colors, with blue dominating the mesh base and leather overlays, creating a bold and dynamic look. In contrast, white panels on the midfoot and heel add a clean, crisp finish. The design culminates in an icy, semi-translucent rubber outsole, providing a modern touch to this retro-inspired silhouette.
The ESPN x adidas Top Ten 2000 will release March 15, 2024 through adidas Confirmed and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
