First Look at the Nike SB x Nike Air Max 95 Wear-Test Sample
Published
With 2025 marking the 30th birthday of Sergio Lozano’s Nike Air Max 95, The Swoosh has set up a bunch of highly-coveted releases throughout the year. Outside of the OG renditions, like the Neon and Black Border, use of the “big bubble” build, and collaborations with the likes of Yu-Gi-Oh and A Ma Maniere, rumors hit the ‘net in 2024 saying that Nike SB would work on their version of the Air Max 95. This has since been confirmed, but until now, there have been no images or details about exactly what the shoe would look like. That’s changed as a video posted by X user Hobofett360 shows us an early wear-test sample.
Although the video doesn’t give us a full breakdown of the sneaker, Hobofett360 did detail some of the changes and upgrades made for skateboarding in reply to his video. They claim that the inside has extra padding, and as seen in the video, the upper is entirely constructed out of suede and mesh. The toebox also isn’t widened, and the board feel is reportedly limited. As for its look, this wear-test sample follows the same pattern as other samples used to develop new sneakers, as an all-black look is applied to the upper.

It doesn’t appear there are any added Nike SB logos on the model yet, though that’s likely to change once the final design is set in stone. Tooling here is rendered in a solid white hue, likely to showcase high-wear areas when skated, with the design appearing nearly identical to a regular Air Max 95. The “big bubble” Air unit in the heel is present, while the outsole below looks like it has extra traction for use on a board.
The Nike SB x Nike Air Max 95 will be released in Fall 2025 through Nike SB-affiliated skate shops and possibly through Nike online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $175.
