Today, we were all surprised to see the MoMA shock drop the Reverse Neon colorway of the Nike Air Max 95, based on an original sketch by the model’s designer, Sergio Lozano, in 1995. Of course, with this year being the model's 30th anniversary, we’re expecting even more from the sneaker, especially considering 2025 marks the return of the “big bubble” Air unit to the model. Joining the stacked lineup is a retro of the Bright Mandarin colorway.
Originally released in 2011, the colorway follows the typical Air Max 95 gradient colorblocking, starting with a white hue along the tongue, sockliner, and mesh netting. Beneath this mesh netting are nylon lace loops that come coated in bright mandarin, matching the shade used on the mini Swoosh on the collar. Moving down across the human anatomy-inspired bone-and-muscle-like midfoot panels, each suede panel gets darker and darker until you reach a solid black.
Air Max branding along the tongue also comes in bright mandarin, though the Nike Air text on the heel tab takes on a tonal finish matching the 3M-laden heel panel. The final details on the upper are the white and silver 3M laces and a black T-toe cap. Below, the Air Max 95 midsole comes covered in black shades, allowing the bright mandarin Air units in the forefoot and heel, the latter coming in "big bubble" form, to shine.
The Nike Air Max 95 OG Bright Mandarin will release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s, TD, and PS sizing, the retail price is $180 for adults.
