Cincinnati-based retailer Unheardof is bringing forth another friends-and-family iteration of their adidas collaboration. A day before the release of the upcoming Rivalry Low Grandma’s Couch 2, which was crafted in honor of founder Phil Lipshutz’s grandmother Naomi, the brand has shared that they’re dropping an ultra-limited second colorway of the silhouette.
Coating most of the upper in a green hue, Phil and Unheardof took inspiration from an orchid's stem, symbolizing the growth and perseverance we all experience when facing challenging times. Specifically for Phil and the Lipshutz family, his grandmother Naomi's passing inspired the original Grandma’s Couch collaboration in 2023. Details from the GR version (which is still limited to 600 pairs) remain, like the handwritten note from Phil's grandfather to Naomi on the insole, floral details on the toebox, tongue, midfoot, and metallic brass eyelets.
Solid red Three Stripes take after the red hues of an orchid’s flower, matching the heel tab that hosts adidas text in Naomi’s handwriting. Below this sits the phrase “Love always and forever,” done in a tonal cream shade. Finishing the design is the gum rubber midsole featuring pink accent stitching and pink adidas text on the heel and the gum rubber outsole.
The Unheardof x adidas Rivalry Low Grandma’s Couch 2 Green will release on May 10, 2025, exclusively through Unheardof in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $185.
