Originally released in 2001, Kobe Bryant’s final signature sneaker with adidas, the adidas Kobe Two (now the Crazy 2), is finally poised for a retro run. So far, the avant-garde silhouette that even today appears as if it was plucked out of a future timeline has emerged in OG makeups like Metallic Silver and the famous All-Star colorway. Joining the summer lineup alongside the Zero Metallic colorway is the Grey Five rendition.
A monochromatic color palette is applied to the silhouette, featuring a deep grey hue across the synthetic paneling. The rubberized toecap with adidas branding takes on a slightly lighter grey hue to match the Three Stripe-laden heel overlay. Surrounding the edge of the collar and the tongue cover, which conceals the tongue and lacing setup, is perforated black leather.

Final details on the upper include the black sockliner and the black TPU “tail light” on the heel tab. Underfoot, adidas upgrades the cushioning from the original EVA foam to a combo of Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro while retaining the original’s Three Stripe indent on the midfoot. A herringbone traction pattern in black with white adidas branding finishes the design.
The adidas Crazy 2 Grey Five will release on June 1, 2025, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and crib sizing, the retail price is $160 and $50, respectively.
