Major changes are underway over at The Three Stripes as the brand cut ties with its biggest collaborator, Yeezy, and has just announced a new CEO, Bjørn Gulden, who is set to take over come January 1st, 2023. Well before all the recent moves, Jerry Lorenzo (founder of Fear of God) moved from The Swoosh to the German sportswear giant in a move that has puzzled many considering we have yet to receive a collection (sans a hoodie and crewneck drop exclusive to China) since the announcement in December 2020. Now, thanks to an earnings call from Foot Locker, we’ve got word that the first Fear of God Athletics x adidas capsule will release during the Holiday 2022 season.
In between the initial announcement that Jerry was joining adidas and the recent reveal of an upcoming collection, Lorenzo has been fulfilling his role in an executive role for adidas Basketball, though we’re unsure of what exactly he has had his in over the last two years. Just like with Fear of God ESSENTIALS with Pac Sun, Fear of God Athletics is its own sublabel under the FOG brand and should include performance and lifestyle pieces including clothing and sneakers, though just like with Lorenzo’s role at The Three Stripes, there is no confirmation of exactly what is dropping as a part of this initial FOG Athletics x adidas Capsule.
Now, in an update from Jerry Lorenzo, the first Fear of God Athletics x adidas Capsule which was originally set for a Holiday 2022 drop is now set to release in 2023 through adidas Confirmed and select retailers online and in-store. As of now, the pricing info and what is included are a mystery.
