Celebrating a long-standing relationship dating back to the early 2000s, UK-based retailer Footpatrol is once again teaming up with adidas Originals. This time, they've revamped the iconic Campus 80s silhouette, a sneaker that has seen several iterations through their partnership. Drawing inspiration from their rich shared history, the Footpatrol x adidas Originals Campus 80s is a testament to the evolution of this enduring collaboration.
This latest iteration takes cues from all previous Footpatrol Campus collaborations throughout its design. The upper features a muted pigskin suede paired with hairy suede along the toe box. Tonal pony hair decorates the Three Stripes branding on the lateral side, while the medial side showcases mesh below. The dual-layered tongues - one pony hair and the other taking color cues from the 2007 & 2011 Campus collaborations - incorporate Footpatrol branding in debossed form. The insoles bring a touch of nostalgia by bearing the “Mustard” and “Iron” colors from earlier releases.
The heel tabs also exhibit a recycled snakeskin print with adidas embossed logos, underneath which you'll find tonal 2002 & 2022 branding commemorating Footpatrol's 20th anniversary. In a departure from tradition, Footpatrol branding is shifted and placed around the lateral ankle collar, echoing the detailing on the 2002 adidas Predator Mania.
The Footpatrol x adidas originals Campus 80s will release May 27 exclusively through Footpatrol. The sneakers come in men’s sizing, with the retail price yet to be announced.
