With 2025 being the 40th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 1, the year should be full of celebrations. Even with the downturn in demand for the model and the subsequent cutting of production/styles of GR colorways, Jordan Brand has big plans that include an ‘85 rendition of the Bred colorway, the proper release and rollout of the Black Toe Reimagined, a UNC Reimagined, and a reprisal of the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High design from 2018. Fresh off the first looks at this new Chicago Shadow Union AJ 1, HORHEAD_Sales on X has stated that an even bigger Union collab is on the way with Hiroshi Fujiwara's fragment design throwing its hat into the ring.
Following HORHEAD_Sales’ initial post, Elden Monitors and House of Heat stated this was the case. However, none of the sources so far have given concrete info on the color scheme that will be applied to the fragment design x Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High. Based on previous fragment design projects, the brand’s signature color of blue, tooling code details, and fragment lightning logo will likely appear on the silhouette. Previously, fragment had its hands in producing two of the most coveted Air Jordan 1 High collabs, one by themselves in 2014 and the other in collaboration with Travis Scott in 2021.
The rumored fragment design x Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High is being reported as a Spring 2025 release, though exactly how that will go down is a mystery. The pair may be exclusive to Union LA, but nothing is concrete as of this writing.
