The Summer Olympics are just weeks away, and this year's games will see the exciting debut of breakdancing as an Olympic sport. In preparation for this groundbreaking addition, Nike has introduced its first official breakdancing sneaker, the Nike Jam. This innovative model has already been spotted in various inline colorways. Still, Nike has taken it a step further by collaborating with renowned artist and designer Futura to create a special Olympic edition.
Futura, known for his iconic graffiti work and previous collaborations with Nike, brings his unique touch to the Nike Jam Train Olympic. This version features a neutral color palette and a mix of materials highlighting performance and style. The upper combines white leather, grey suede on the eyestays, and various mesh and knit fabrics, creating a dynamic and textured look. The base color is predominantly white, providing a clean canvas for the grey suede overlays and the striking black Swoosh that runs across the midfoot.
Futura's influence truly shines in the detailing. The multi-color sockliner, heel pull tab, and insole are all adorned with his distinctive artwork, adding a vibrant and artistic flair to the sneaker. Custom secondary laces featuring splatter paint details and a Nike logo drawn by Futura offer wearers a chance to personalize their look. A unique lace dubrae with Futura's artwork further enhances the sneaker's bespoke feel. The design is complemented by a white midsole and a black, white, and red outsole that ensures both style and function.
The Futura x Nike Jam Train Olympic will release on September 13, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
