In a fusion of East meets West, Malaysian streetwear fans are in for a treat as homegrown brand Futuremade Studio (FTMD.) unites with Vans.
The Sk8-Low and Half Cab have been reimagined with FTMD's contemporary aesthetics. The Sk8-Low commands attention with its rich brown suede upper complemented by sharp white contrast stitching. Breaking the monochrome, the tongue tag unfurls in a sunny yellow hue, harmoniously extending to the sockliner, where splashes of orange make a subtle appearance. An impeccable white midsole, traced with blue piping, sits above a semi-translucent rubber outsole, artistically encapsulating the FTMD insignia.
On the other hand, the Half Cab encapsulates understated elegance in a greyish-tan palette. Vivid hints from the tongue tag to the Half Cab label and sockliner infuse life into the muted background. Crisp white laces (though an extra orange set is included) draw contrast against the tan tongue, and the white midsole is adorned with orange piping. The semi-translucent outsole, reminiscent of its counterpart, subtly showcases the FTMD branding.
The FTMD x Vans Collection will release on August 10, 2023, through FTMD and on August 17 through Vans and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at TBA.
