Giannis Antetokounmpo Leaks His Next Signature Sneaker, the Nike Giannis Freak 7
Published
One of the biggest surprises in NBA history was the meteoric rise of Giannis Antetokounmpo. When he first entered the league in 2013, he was selected 15th overall, and a steady but not all-too-impressive development marked his first few seasons. However, after 2016, he only grew better with age, eventually winning back-to-back MVPs in 2019 and 2020 and debuting his first signature, the Giannis Zoom Freak 1, in 2019. Years later, Giannis has taken to Instagram to reveal the first look at his next model — the Nike Giannis Freak 7.
Leaning more towards the design language of his Giannis Immortality line, his takedown model that comes in a cheaper price point compared to the standard Freak 6, the silhouette features a mid-top cut, straying from the low-top look of his current sneaker. Wavy, free-flowing lines work from the toe and run back to the collar, wrapping around the ankle and containing a key feature on many Giannis’ models: a backward Swoosh. For its base, the Freak 7 comes with an engineered mesh not too far off from the Freak 6’s mesh.

Other details that continue from previous models include Giannis’ logo on the tongue and the names of his family members embedded onto the sole unit. The exact tech and cushioning setup is unknown at this time, though with the sneaker’s price point down to $110, it’s likely it won’t be as packed with technology as his previous models. Finishing the sneaker is the rubber outsole that features Antetokounmpo text as part of the traction pattern.
The Nike Giannis Freak 7 will release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. The Total Orange Black pair drops on September 4, while the Wolf in Sheep's Clothing edition occurs on September 12. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $110.
