As part of adidas' Tokyo Energy series, an initiative designed to showcase the vibrant culture of Tokyo through classic adidas designs, the upcoming five-piece collection promises to be a harmonious fusion of Tokyo's spirit and Shibata's eclectic style.
Deep diving into the collection, the adidas Rivalry Low 86 emerges as a standout, bearing leather and suede, punctuated by a distinctive Tyrolean pattern on the iconic Three Stripes. The signature 'Rivalry' text is substituted with 'Hikari S' branding on the midfoot, while an outlined rendition of the adidas Trefoil logo graces the tongue, bringing a fresh twist to the classic design. The collection continues further. Two captivating adidas Forum 84 Low colorways are unveiled, each featuring split-colored Three Stripes, an outlined Trefoil on the X-strap, and a harmonious blend of tonal suede overlays with contrasting sole units. Lastly, the Campus 00s exudes simplicity yet elegance. Two pairs emerge, bathed in a royal purple and the other in an earthy brown, adorned in an all-over tonal suede finish, capturing the essence of Shibata's nuanced design sensibility.
The Hikari Shibata x adidas Collection will release October 20, 2023, through adidas in Asia and select retailers online and in-store in the region. Available in unisex sizing, the Rivalry and Campus are priced at 16,500 Yen (approx $110), while the Forum Low will be available for 17,600 Yen (approx $117).
