In the world of streetwear and skate culture, few collaborations have garnered as much attention and respect as the partnership between Vans and Hockey. Their collective journey began in 2018, merging two entities deeply rooted in skateboarding ethos. Their past collections have always been a testament to their shared passion for the sport, drawing attention from skate aficionados and the fashion-forward crowd. Now, as the leaves start to change and autumn ushers in, the duo is gearing up for another promising release in September 2023.
The upcoming Hockey x Vans Fall 2023 Collection offers a fresh take on some of Vans' most iconic models: the Vans Skate Old Skool, Skate Slip-On, and Skate Authentic Hi. At the heart of the design, faux snakeskin patterns create a compelling visual texture strategically placed across different areas of each model. A traditional mix of canvas and suede complements this reptilian aesthetic. The Jazz Stripe of the Old Skool, the toebox and heel of the Slip-On, and the sockliner of the Authentic Hi all sport this pattern. Pops of red in the Hockey branding embroidery offer a vivid contrast against the neutral backdrop. However, one must notice the intricately embroidered wolf on the medial side of the upper of the Authentic Hi, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the design. To round things off, the choice of midsoles for each model varies, with the Old Skool sporting a gum finish, the Slip-On in classic white, and the Authentic Hi in stark black.
The Hockey x Vans Fall 2023 Collection will release September 14, 2023, through Vans and Hockey online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
