Dipping into its rich archives, adidas brought back the celebrated Forum silhouette in 2020, leading to an avalanche of collaborations. Yet, among the many stellar collaborations, one name stands out - Jacques Chassaing. Not just another artist or influencer, Chassaing is the mastermind behind the original design of the adidas Forum back in 1984. Now, he returns to his creation, blending inspiration from blizzards with the shoe's classic features.
Sporting a wintry palette, Jacques Chassaing’s take on his adidas Forum '84 High boasts a pristine white leather base accentuated with soft grey hints, a nod to the snowy landscapes and overcast skies of a blizzard. The grey suede wraps around the mudguard, contrasting with the clean white leather that envelops the toebox, vamp, eyestays, and the unmistakable lockdown strap. Detailed "FRM84" branding graces the strap, while the tongue tag vibrantly flashes a multi-color "Blizzard Warning" text, signaling the stormy inspiration behind the design. Injecting color into the icy backdrop, embroidered accents in red, yellow, blue, and black dance beneath the midfoot's iconic Three Stripes and X-strap. The stormy motifs culminate on the heel, where "BL2RD" and "FRM84" are boldly embossed on black leather. Grounding this flurry of design elements is a stark white rubber midsole, accompanied by a slightly transparent rubber outsole.
The Jacques Chassaing x adidas Forum '84 High Blizzard Warning has seen a limited release at overseas retailers, while a global launch via adidas will go down in October 2023. As of this writing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
