In recent years, Saucony has transitioned from being solely recognized for its long-standing legacy in the realm of running to being a brand embraced by the lifestyle and streetwear community. A pivotal force in this transformation is designer Jae Tips. Following the buzz from his viral multi-colored rendition of the Grid Azura 2000 in 2023, the sneaker community has ardently anticipated his next creation. Further fueling the enthusiasm, Jae Tips recently shared glimpses of a new collaboration with Saucony, centered around the ProGrid Omni 9. Alongside this pair, Jae Tips has also crafted a Tan colorway.
This upcoming Jae Tips x Saucony ProGrid Omni 9 adheres to the vibrant, captivating color palette that has become synonymous with Jae's collaborative endeavors. The sneaker evokes a harmonious yet bold aesthetic, blending pink, purple, green, blue, and navy hues. While the overall structure stays true to the ProGrid Omni 9's original design, Jae's influence shines through in the strategic placement of color and the clever integration of branding. The shoe's mesh base is adorned with TPU and leather overlays, while the iconic Saucony logo graces the midfoot in a brilliant blue. An additional touch, the Jae Tips' signature "Savior" logo, is subtly positioned on the lateral heel, adding to the shoe's exclusivity. Anchoring the design is a navy foam midsole, perfectly complemented by a durable blue outsole.
The Jae Tips x Saucony ProGrid Omni 9 will release August 23, 2024, in NYC through Billionaire Boys Club. A drop via Jae Tips' website will take place the next day, August 24. A global drop will take place via Saucony and retailers on September 20, 2024. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
