After a summer filled with wins on basketball's biggest stages, Jayson Tatum is ready to rise again — this time, in his latest signature sneaker, the Jordan Tatum 3. While we have already seen previews of colorways like the Floral and 10K Hours, the Jordan Brand has just officially unveiled the model.
Reflecting on the evolution of his signature line, Tatum is clearly not taking his position for granted. “I’m grateful to be in a position where I can co-create with Jordan Brand and have fans connect with me through my shoe,” Tatum shares. For him, the magic of the Tatum 3 lies in its ability to captivate through colorway storytelling. "My favorite part of the 3s is the way they take on color, so my hope is that we inspire and energize a lot of people."
This court-ready silhouette was crafted through an extensive collaboration between Tatum and Jordan Brand's top footwear designers. Their goal? A shoe that feels broken in right out of the box, adapting to the foot like a second skin without any restrictions or discomfort.
To achieve this, the Tatum 3 boasts a meticulously designed upper, incorporating athlete-driven insights gathered from the Nike Sport Research Lab. Layering materials precisely where needed provides power and comfort in equal measure. It offers a supportive, form-fitting design that avoids the bulkiness often associated with high-performance footwear.
Beneath the sleek upper, a Cushlon 3.0 foam and Zoom Air insert team up to create a smooth, responsive feel for lateral movements. Combined with a herringbone traction pattern on the outsole, the Tatum 3 ensures players can quickly stop on a dime and explode out of cuts — vital features for those looking to emulate Tatum's smooth, effortless play.
Tatum’s journey to stardom has always been intertwined with his dedication to family, and the Jordan Tatum 3 reflects that deeply personal connection. The shoe's fluid lines symbolize his seamless approach to the game and the unwavering support he draws from his family tree. His son's name, Deuce, is once again featured on the inside of the tongue, a hallmark of the Tatum signature series. Opposite Deuce's name sits Tatum's JT logo, while his iconic number 0 graces the heel alongside colorway-specific sayings.
A nod to his mindset is also present: Tatum's memorable "Find A Way" quote from his now-famous 2023 "humbly" interview is etched into the sneaker's medial side, serving as a reminder of his relentless pursuit of greatness.
The Jordan Tatum 3 will launch in the Welcome to the Garden Alternate colorway, telling a story of growth both on and off the court. Other upcoming colorways include the Zero Days Off, inspired by the work put in by Tatum to achieve his goals; the Sidewalk Chalk, inspired by playful childhood moments Deuce spent with Jayson; and the Zen colorway, inspired by how Tatum is calm under pressure.
The first Jordan Tatum 3 release will be on October 5, 2024, exclusively at Concepts Boston. As part of the Welcome to the Garden Pack, it will include an Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG and come in a custom double sneaker box. Following this, the Tatum 3 will be released at Nike and select retailers on October 10. The two-pack at CNCPTS will retail for $300, while the Tatum 3 will retail for $125.
