Jordan Brand is Selling a $700 Gore-Tex Outfit Inspired by Michael Jordan's Iconic Skyline Photo
2025 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 1 sneaker, making this year a celebration of all things Air Jordan-related. In addition to the array of Air Jordan retro releases, Jordan Brand is looking to celebrate this monumental birthday with apparel and accessories. It has already released a slew of vintage graphic tees but now has dropped an apparel collection inspired by one of the most iconic Michael Jordan photos.
For the original marketing and promotion of the Air Jordan 1, MJ was photographed wearing the Air Jordan 1 High Black Toe in his now-famous Jumpman pose. In the background is the Chicago skyline at sunset, featuring an ombre effect transitioning from a deep orange to a greyish black near the top of the photo. Jordan Brand has used this as inspiration for various sneakers over the years, including the Air Jordan 1 High Craft Skyline and Air Jordan 1 Mid SS Skyline from 2023.

However, the photo has now been directly applied to Gore-Tex-covered apparel items, including a $500 jacket and a $200 set of pants. The hooded zip-up jacket adds the photo of MJ directly on the back, while Gore-Tex logos come plastered on the sleeves and embossed Air Jordan text lines the center of the chest. We see an all-black look for the pants with Air Jordan and Gore-Tex logos placed on the leg. However, the lining of the pants, which can be revealed thanks to the zipper around the ankle, features the same gradient skyline found in the photo.
