Zion Williamson may have had a rocky start to his career, but the young superstar is still blessed to be one of a handful of NBA athletes with their signature sneaker line with Jordan Brand. After over a year of releases of the Zion 3 and images of the Jordan Zion 4 in its debut colorway appearing online, Jordan Brand has unveiled the sneaker in full, revealing tech specs and the first few colorways slated to hit shelves in the coming months.
Although one might think that a big man like Zion would prefer a high-cut silhouette, the Zion 4 proves that the low-cut model is better for the Pelicans’ star. Inside the sneaker, Jordan Brand improves the comfort of the drop-in midsole, which made its debut in the Zion series with the Zion 3, by offering a full-length Cushlon 3.0 drop-in midsole that sticks atop a full-length parabolic Air Zoom strobel unit. With this dual-layered cushioning set-up, Zion and those who rock the pair on the court will feel a cushioning set-up responsive at takeoff and plush upon landing.
Like his last model, the Zion 4 will launch in colorways that pay tribute to Zion's hard work to make it “out of the mud” in his journey from Marion, South Carolina, to the NBA and his power and strength. The debut Damascus Steel colorway is included, referencing the crucible steel that is famously from the Middle East, though the process of forging the steel has been lost to time. Following this, the model will be released in the Mud to Marble and Forged in Fire renditions.
The Jordan Zion 4 will debut on January 28, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store for $140. The two follow-up colorways will launch in the Spring 2025 season.
