Jordan Brand has a history of creating hybrid sneakers that merge elements from iconic Air Jordan models. Among these hybrids, the Jordan Spizike stands out as a fan favorite. Originally released as a high-top, the Spizike pays homage to Spike Lee and his significant contributions to Jordan Brand's legacy. In 2024, the Spizike was introduced in a low-top version, and now it's set to drop in the Toro colorway, inspired by the beloved Air Jordan 4 Toro Bravo.
The Jordan Spizike Low Toro features a luxurious combination of nubuck, suede, and neoprene on the upper, delivering style and comfort. This sneaker beautifully amalgamates design cues from several classic Air Jordans. The elephant print overlays on the mudguard and heel are borrowed from the Air Jordan 3, while the plastic midfoot cage is a nod to the Air Jordan 5. Additionally, the wings eyelets come from the Air Jordan 4, and the neoprene lace cover on the tongue is inspired by the Air Jordan 6.
Drenched in the iconic red hue that defines the Toro colorways, the Spizike Low Toro is striking. Grey and black elephant print accents on the mudguard and heel add depth to the design, while the black and grey wings and TPU eyelets enhance its aesthetic. The right heel features the 40 Acres and a Mule logo, a tribute to Spike Lee’s production company, while the left heel displays a portrait of Spike Lee. Completing the look is a black and white midsole reminiscent of the Air Jordan 3, paired with a grey rubber outsole for superior traction.
The Jordan Spizike Low Toro was released today, September 20, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
