KAWS has been working in the art space for decades, rising to fame with his infamous Companion Figures and collaborations with just about every brand, designer, and influencer under the sea. While his work with The North Face earlier in the year included a wide color palette and ski-ready clothing, the recently revealed second capsule for the F/W 2022 season gets a much more muted color scheme and takes pieces from The North Face’s Expedition System (a mountain climbing-ready set of apparel).
Taking archival pieces from the aforementioned TNF Expedition System, we’ve got a cross-pollination of design on the 1996 Nuptse Jacket, 1995 Denali Jacket, 1986 Mountain Jacket, and a range of clothes - hoodies, sweatpants, short/long-sleeves, mitts, duffle bags, and the ThermoBall Traction Mule. Each article of clothing is offered in two neutral tones, white or black, and comes with co-branded details featuring KAWS’ “XX” logo and the standard TNF logo. While hoodies, beanies, sweatpants, tees, and half of the ThermoBall Traction Mules come in solid tones, the true technical wear pieces get doused in a subtle camo print that comes in a tone not too far off from the base layer.
The KAWS x The North Face Fall/Winter 2022 Collection is slated to release on October 25th, 2022 through TNF’s website at 10am EST and select retailers online and in-store. Pricing will range anywhere from $55 to $550 depending on the piece. Check the gallery down below for a full look at the entire collection and keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
