Born in Bulgaria, fashion designer Kiko Kostadinov was fortunate to see success immediately after fashion school with a runaway show coming only a year after graduating. The only place for him to go was up after founding his eponymous label by securing a successful collaboration with Asics in 2018. After releasing plenty of silhouettes and colorways, his collaborative efforts eventually grew into working directly for the brand on their SportStyle line. With plans to release ten new models for both men and women, Kiko and Asics’ most recent silhouette is here with four colorways of the HN2-S PROTOBLAST.
Made combining the toe box of the GELHOOP V6 and the sole of a NOVABLAST, the futuristic Asics HN2-S PROTOBLAST runner comes constructed out of mesh and patent leather across the upper. This mesh base is accented by patent leather overlays creating a zig zag striped pattern across the siding of the silhouette. Flat laces run up the mesh tongue with an extended pull tab nearby. Branding comes in the form of a stitched Asics tag on the insoles and “A” logo on the pull tab. Down on the sculpted midsole, FLYTEFOAM Blast cushioning provides immaculate comfort with a rubber outsole to tie everything together.
The Kiko Kostadinov x Asics HN2-S PROTOBLAST in “Evergreen/Shaded Spruce,” “Black/Grey,” “Black/Brown,” and “Blue/Purple” have already released through European retailers with a US release expected in the near future.
