Ronnie Fieg and Kith have been unstoppable in the world of collaborative footwear. In recent months, we’ve been teased with multiple Kith projects, from the brand’s upcoming Adizero Evo SL, Asics Gel-Kayano 12.1, and New Balance 990v4 Made in USA. However, it’s been quite some time since Fieg partnered with French outdoor label Salomon on a project, with the duo last working together in December 2022. Two years later, Kith and Salomon reunite on the XT-4K silhouette as part of Kithmas 2024.
Inspired by the ever-popular XT-4, the Salomon XT-4K sees the same tooling as the model but refines the upper. These two Kith editions redesign the panels on the midfoot to spell out KITH, which is seen in a stark white shade that contrasts the grey mesh base on the white pair and tonal black hues on the black colorway. Tonal hues land on the tongue nearby, which plays host to pops of red via the Kith-branded tongue tag and a black-and-white pattern on the spine. More Kith branding is found near the midfoot, while the toe contains XT-4K branding in red.
Salomon finds a home near the lateral heel, as the brand typically does on the standard XT-4. However, the heel counter gets redesigned to feature a fused overlay. Finishing the look is a white and clear midsole paired with a trail-ready grey rubber outsole.
Alongside the XT-4 model, Kith is also introducing the XT-Voyager silhouette, inspired by a vintage pair of Salomon Adventure 7 boots. The pair comes with a split upper featuring navy accents on the top half of the suede, ripstop, and mesh panels, while the grey suede mudguard defines the bottom half. Like the other sneaker, there are plenty of Kith and Salomon branding details, though not as overt as the "KITH" overlay on the XT-4K.
The Kith for Salomon 2024 Collection will release December 30, 2024, exclusively via Kith online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $220 for all three pairs.
